The mission of the International Association of Bryologists (IAB), as a society, is to strengthen bryology by encouraging interactions among all persons interested in byophytes.
The International Association of Bryologists (IAB) is an organization established in 1969 at the XI International Botanical Congress in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A. The aim of the organization is to promote international cooperation and communication among bryologists, whether amateur or professional. This is achieved through sponsorship and arrangement of meetings and symposia that relate to the various aspects of bryology, and by IAB sponsored publications including The Bryological Times. The Association also supports the publication of reviews, lists, software, and compendia.
